The NY Times gives away more secrets to the enemy

Why in the hell does the NYT do this?
BARA, Pakistan — More than 70 United States military advisers and technical specialists are secretly working in Pakistan to help its armed forces battle Al Qaeda and the Taliban in the country’s lawless tribal areas, American military officials said.

The Americans are mostly Army Special Forces soldiers who are training Pakistani Army and paramilitary troops, providing them with intelligence and advising on combat tactics, the officials said. They do not conduct combat operations, the officials added.

They make up a secret task force, overseen by the United States Central Command and Special Operations Command. It started last summer, with the support of Pakistan’s government and military, in an effort to root out Qaeda and Taliban operations that threaten American troops in Afghanistan and are increasingly destabilizing Pakistan. It is a much larger and more ambitious effort than either country has acknowledged.

Pakistani officials have vigorously protested American missile strikes in the tribal areas as a violation of sovereignty and have resisted efforts by Washington to put more troops on Pakistani soil. President Asif Ali Zardari, who leads a weak civilian government, is trying to cope with soaring anti-Americanism among Pakistanis and a belief that he is too close to Washington.

Despite the political hazards for Islamabad, the American effort is beginning to pay dividends.
Yeah, paying dividends until now you rat bastards. I wonder how Obama likes the NY Times now that they are working against him?

Rick Santelli tells it like it is. President Obama are you listening?

I love it. Rick Santelli tells Obama off from the floor of the stock exchange in Chicago. Like the Porkulus protests, this is more evidence that the US isn't going to sink into socialism without a fight. President Obama are you listening?

Iran will talk to Obama IF...

There's a word for this.
Iran may agree to hold face-to-face talks with Barack Obama’s administration, providing there is a concrete change in U.S. policy, Agence France-Presse cited Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki as saying.

“We are considering this offer,” Mottaki was quoted as saying today by AFP. “We need to wait to see differences in Barack Obama’s policy compared to that of George Bush.”
That word is preconditions.

The UAW is a parasite

The UAW is still sucking the life out of the Big 3.
DETROIT – The United Auto Workers' deal with Detroit's three automakers limits overtime, changes work rules, cuts lump-sum cash bonuses and gets rid of cost-of-living pay raises to help reduce the companies' labor costs, people briefed on the agreement said Wednesday.
Overtime? Are they serious? Cash bonuses? What the hell for? Pay raises? Did they really expect a pay raise right now? These are the "major concessions" that the UAW thinks justify billions more from taxpayers.
The UAW announced Tuesday that it reached the tentative agreement with General Motors Corp., Chrysler LLC and Ford Motor Co. over contract concessions, as GM and Chrysler sent plans to the Treasury Department asking for a total of $39 billion in government financing to help them survive.

Concessions with the union are a condition of the $17.4 billion in government loans that the automakers have received so far.

Base wages for UAW workers will remain the same, but the deal limits supplemental pay that laid-off workers receive while they collect unemployment benefits, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because union members have not been told about the terms.
Don't you just love that? No wage cuts, oh no. But it's a big fat concession that a laid off worker will have his "supplemental pay" limited. On what friggin planet does a laid off worker continue to receive pay at all? And if he is still receiving pay, why the hell is he also receiving unemployment benefits? The UAW is a tapeworm living in the gut of the big three. The union needs to be surgically removed through bankruptcy, hopefully before taxpayers are forced to loan them the 39 billion more they are asking for.

North Dakota has outlawed abortion

These are fighting words.
North Dakota's House of Representatives has passed a bill effectively outlawing abortion. The House voted 51-41 this afternoon to declare that a fertilized egg has all the rights of any person. That means a fetus could not be legally aborted without the procedure being considered murder.
I hope this goes to the supreme court before Obama has a chance to load it up with liberals.

I have questions for both sides of this argument.

For the pro lifers - If abortion becomes murder (in a legal sense), should a woman who has an abortion be given the death penalty?

For the pro deathers - If a fetus is not a human life, WHY is it not a human life? I mean, an egg and a sperm have a get together and a process of human development begins that continues through puberty, right? So how can a line be drawn between alive and not alive any time after fertilization?

Obama redfines American Dream

I had two reactions to Obama's speech about his foreclosure plan today. The first is that this man believes the "American Dream" to be a government guaranteed rosy life.
In the end, all of us are paying a price for this home mortgage crisis. And all of us will pay an even steeper price if we allow this crisis to deepen - a crisis which is unraveling homeownership, the middle class, and the American Dream itself. But if we act boldly and swiftly to arrest this downward spiral, every American will benefit. And that's what I want to talk about today.
Here's a hint Mr President. The American Dream is to pursue happiness and enjoy the fruits of your own labor while also enjoying freedom from governmental intrusion into your life. In the real American Dream your success or failure is your own responsibility. The American Dream is NOT to have the government pay for your house. That's a different dream, a Marxist dream.

The second reaction I had was the irony of this statement near the end:
So solving this crisis will require more than resources - it will require all of us to take responsibility. Government must take responsibility for setting rules of the road that are fair and fairly enforced. Banks and lenders must be held accountable for ending the practices that got us into this crisis in the first place. Individuals must take responsibility for their own actions. And all of us must learn to live within our means again.

These are the values that have defined this nation. These are values that have given substance to our faith in the American Dream. And these are the values that we must restore now at this defining moment.
So let's get this straight. Fresh off of signing the biggest spending bill in history, that Congress didn't even READ, and at the exact moment that he reaches into my wallet and takes not my cash but my CREDIT CARD, and uses it to pay other people's bills, Obama admonishes me to be more responsible and to live within my means! This is supposed to restore my faith in the American Dream? What a crock full of arrogance, idiocy, and shit. The American Dream may have died with the election of Barrack Obama.

Man finally solves Rubik's Cube after 26 years

This guy's dedication is admirable, and a little pathetic.
It has taken most of his life – but, after 26 years, builder Graham Parker has finally solved the puzzle of the Rubik's Cube.

When he bought the toy in 1983, Yuri Andropov was leader of the Soviet Union, breakfast TV was a novelty and music CDs were in the shops for the first time.

'I cannot tell you what a relief it was to finally solve it,' the 45-year-old from Portchester, Hampshire, said. 'It has driven me mad over the years – it felt like it had taken over my life.

'I have missed important events to stay in and solve it and I would lie awake at night thinking about it.

'I have had wrist and back problems from spending hours on it but it was all worth it. When I clicked that last bit into place and each face was a solid colour, I wept.'

Wife Jean, 47, said it had felt like there had been three people in their marriage.

'When I met Graham, he was already obsessed with the cube – spending hours on it every day,' she said. 'I have often thought about getting rid of it but I knew he would not rest until he had solved it.'

A spokesman for the governing body for competitions involving the puzzle, the World Cube Association, said it was 'definitely the longest it has taken' to finish the cube.
Good job Graham, but.... now what?

Why Hamas must lose

This video shows why Hamas, and jihadis of all stripes, must be defeated. The Israel/Hamas conflict in Gaza is no longer just about whether Zionists screwed the Palestinians out of their land 60 years ago (they did). It's about what the Palestinians have become in the interim. Gaza is now just one of many fronts in the West's struggle against creeping global Islamic totalitarianism. It's hard for some in the US to conceive of eventually losing this battle, that our way of life could actually fall to these bearded hate-crazed Islamofucks. But that is naive.

Europe is already overrun. What allies will we have there in 50 years? Our birth rates are in the tank compared to the Muslim world, we are divided against ourselves, and the jihadis keep proving they are in this for the long haul. Time and willpower, it seems, are not on our side.
